Probably because it was US folks writing about a Canadian issue that they didn't understand. *shrug*I mean, I'm certain it happens when Canadians report on US issues. The BBC reported that Jack Layton was the Acting Deputy Mayor of Toronto, which was probably news to him as the leader of the Federal NDP.
