Discussion of All Things Political

I think a lot of it has to do with a. the reporting, excuse me propaganda that is going on in American news. And all those Hollywood movies and books by people like Jack Higgins and Tom Clancy and such. And a almost total lack of history knowledge much less historical perspective on what the Us has done before, and in some cases a downright refusal to know, because of racism. All of which are influenced by and feed into this blasted national mythos that we are some goddamn city on the hill type shit, an exceptional country and therefore what we do by definition is right. Less fucking hubris and ignorance might lead to less fuckups, but we don't seem intent in learning from our mistakes.
