Discussion of All Things Political

It took a lot of guts for Diaz to do what he did. I'm acutely socially phobic, and afraid to show compassion to people living on the street for fear of being seen as an easy mark. Also, I don't know how to navigate around mental illness issues, which many of the homeless people in Los Angeles have. I won't lie, after some of the verbal abuse I've received so much as seeing a homeless person will trigger a fight-or-flight response.

I guess what I'm wondering is what to do.
